We can expect a wide-ranging variety of biomes to explore, too. There’s going to be a whole suite of weapon customisations available, including skins, reticles and attachments – just don’t get too excited and waste your limited ammo! So far, there are more than two dozen different prehistoric animals to hunt/fight/poop your pants and run away from, with Hashbane taking requests on its social media channels for people’s favourites to add into the game.Įven though ammo is likely to be scarce (this is survival horror, after all), Instinction will have an epic arsenal of weaponry, all of which has been created under the guidance of TJ Bova, who is ex-military and has over 15 years of experience with all kinds of firearms. #Dino crisis remake 2021 series
We’ve had some decent survival horror games in recent years, including numerous remakes of Resident Evil and the excellent Resident Evil Village, but what about Capcom’s other franchise? The Dino Crisis series was much-loved when it first released (well, the first two games, at least), and fans have been crying out for a sequel or at the very least, a remake.
The series followed a sci-fi plot that saw time-distorting Third Energy bringing about a series of dinosaur outbreaks that its protagonists had to survive, with the first two entries following secret agent Regina investigating various research facilities and military bases in what was then considered to be the near future of 2009, and the third, less popular entry taking place in the distant future, being set upon a spacecraft in 2548 with a new protagonist.It may only be in the early stages of development, but Instinction is already shaping up to be one of the must-play indie titles of 2022 Whilst initially some could have written it off as " Resident Evil with dinosaurs," the franchise was a success, offering a far darker and more violent take on the dinosaur genre in the height of the original Jurassic Park trilogy, which itself had been made significantly more family-friendly than the books those films were based on. Dino Crisis was a highly praised game that used Capcom's Resident Evil engine in the late 90s and early 2000s but sadly hasn't been revisited since the series' disappointing third entry in 2003.ĭespite Dino Crisis' absence from the modern gaming world, many who experienced it in the heyday of the original PlayStation have fond memories of the title. A fan-made trailer for a Dino Crisis remake on Unreal Engine 5 has got fans seeing the potential in a remake of Capcom's dinosaur survival horror franchise again.
